Evil entity that appeared(?) in a Japanese modern ghost story/urban legend, メリーさんの電話 (Phone calls from Mary-san). It was adapted into a 2011 film.
An abandoned doll terrorizing her previous owner with phone calls from slowly advancing points before calling the last time that she's right behind the owner.
This short & nice story is also notorious for its countless joke variants.
